When a full house is a losing hand
This musical, which shows young folks tearing off their masks and dancing in the streets, is Poker’s ode to reunions, but maybe not just yet.

This ironic musical piece exploits common misconceptions about Covid-19 to show that it’s really too soon to be doing...well...any of this.
As a young man throws off his mask, singing about how the virus is gone, others join him, singing and dancing without facial coverings as they spin through the streets. From balconies, behind closed doors, and on their own porches, those more reticent to join in the celebration of the new normal shake their heads in disapproval. The singing group ignores them continuing their dance through the streets, explaining all the reasons why they don’t have to worry about Covid.
Disruptive, strange, and with a dark, dark sense of humor, Reunions is a bold take on the anti-Covid sentiment that exists in younger generations. Directed by Luciano Podcaminsky of Rebolucion the film is bright and colorful, a stark contrast to many other health PSAs. Ad agency DDB Worldwide Columbia doesn’t pull any punches, and the extremely effective final scene sucks any levity out of the air immediately.
