In this charming ad from MullenLowe and Passion Animation Studios, a young girl is taken on a fantastic trip as she dives into a bowl of noodles at a wagamama restaurant.
A young woman gets ready for her day, walking through town to meet up with her friends at the wagamama restaurant. Meanwhile, a chef prepares ingredients for the noodle bowl that transports the woman to a flavorful fantasy world of dumpling gondolas and exploding star anise.
With an eye on the Japan-based Olympics in August, MullenLowe has utilized an ubiquitous art style to show off the culture and tone of the restaurant. The focus isn’t on the food, but the feeling and director Mads Broni has captured an artistic vision of food, drawing on the historic importance of food in anime to inform the tone of Bowl to Soul.
