This new campaign from Johannes Leonardo uses one of the oldest uses of motion in film – the Zoetrope – as the key storyteller of the history of transportation in culture.

Starting out by showing the construction of a wheel the beautiful camerawork moves us through various stages, from horse and buggy, to the bicycle, steam-powered trains and onto the early car. The spot shows us big moments in automotive history before we come to a scene of congestion and pollution. It's then that we finally move on to see the new electric VW SUV, another forward step in the evolution of transport. 

The 90-second spot, which was shot practically and in one take, was directed by Sam Brown through Imperial Woodpecker.
