Volkswagen proves that hell really is other people
From nose-mining passengers to impatient tailgaters, fellow road users can really drive you up the wall. Thank heavens, then, for VW's safety tech.

It's a truth universally acknowledged that the main problem on the road is other people. Not you. 'The others' (or 'les autres' in French, which, let's face it, sounds so much better).
Stuck in a traffic jam? The others caused it. People driving too fast or too slow, parking incompetently or letting loose a string of road rage-fuelled invective are always the same ones: the others. But hang about, aren't we also 'the others' to someone else?
This is the insight behind Volkswagen’s latest ad to promote its safety technologies. Created by DDB Paris and directed by Si & Ad through Wanda, the film juxtaposes a ranting voice-over about fellow road users, with tactile grainy visuals (the film was shot on 16mm film) of other road users, closing with the reminder that VW's IQ.DRIVE helps people make the roads safer - not only for themselves, but for 'the others'.
