Created by Ogilvy for skincare brand Vaseline in Kenya, this charming short film, titled Love Hurts, taps into collective cultural memory to captures an unspoken act of love between parents and children.
Directed by former Olympian and BAFTA-winning filmmaker, Savanah Leaf of Park Pictures, the beautifully shot film depicts parents and grandparents uncomfortably slathering their disgruntled children's faces with petroleum jelly.
Set against a deliberately ironic soundtrack, the film traces the emotional shift from resistance as a child to understanding as an adult, revealing that what once felt uncomfortable was, in fact, an act of love.
