United Standard’s fashion film hits PornHub

Depending on your personal peccadillos, this video may not titillate but will doubtless fascinate; begging, as it does, the question, what makes a fashion film? 

Should it, for example, feature garments of any kind? Or will two peeps cavorting in the nip suffice? In this fast-evolving genre, it’s all about the brand, which in this case was founded in Milan by the film’s director Giorgio Di Salvo, lending the film bags of fashion cred. 

With a censored version hosted on visual arts and photography magazine C41, and the full Monty on PornHub, Love Control was produced by C41 Studios and is an intriguing watch.  

Part of a project inspired by Eros, the theme of the Amsterdam-based magazine’s latest issue, the film features real porn actors and claims to explore "a concept of eroticism enhanced by visual and extreme narrative". 

It was shot in slowed ‘high speed mode’ using a Phantom camera, which is usually used for food shooting. This results in raw, forensically detailed shots that capture the movement and texture of flesh. The actors' level stares to camera and the unnerving music make for an arresting film that strays toward the eerie side of Eros.
