Created by DDB and directed by Yves Geleyn and Michael Thurmeier through Hornet, Today’s Holiday Moments are Tomorrow’s Memories tells the story of Jack, a loveable grandpa who stumbles upon his late wife’s cookbook.
He experiments with making a few dishes, reliving holiday memories of his wife with every taste. The film ends in the present day, when Jack continues his favourite culinary traditions with his granddaughter.
Technically, the film required Hornet to restructure and add new detail to the original Kroji characters to achieve the cinematic expressiveness Kroger was going for. Everything from the rigs, to the the hair details in skin texture were upgraded to push the overall quality of the characters.
The spot is soundtracked by the moving vocals of singer-songwriter Colbie Caillat in her special rendition of the Goo Goo Dolls’ Iris.
