Over the past few years Droga5 New York has delivered some brilliant, award-winning campaigns for The New York Times, and the partnership has returned with two new spots (with another to come later this week) that examine the connections between the seemingly unconnected.

Directed by Mackenzie Sheppard through Bonaparte the first two spots [Sneakers, above, and Gravity, below] centre on the idea that understanding can make your world a bigger place, and that Times journalism helps to foster that sense of understanding by bringing to life the topics its readers care about most, then uncovering others they didn’t know to look for.

Each, mainly typographic, spot takes the audience on a journey of seemingly ordinary topics, revealing their connection to one other and how those topics impact on readers’ lives today.
