Out of SKUNK, Running Red Lights is a neon-lit glow-up full of halcyon moments and bright, exuberant dancing.
A man in a psychic’s shop gets the usual bromide. He’s going int he right direction, everything is coming full circle, all that good energy is returning. It’s easy to believe that someone needs hope like this, and as soon as the man goes out of the shop he starts dancing, oblivious to the world around him.
He dances through the streets, in front of a taxi, under the streetlamps. He stops to grab flowers, ditch his heels, and he keeps dancing. It’s fun and joyful, full of excitement and in-the-moment happiness. With beautiful lighting, tight choreo, and an expressive lead, Greg Brunkalla directs this beautifully simple promo for The Avalanches.
