Superprime Films signs Sebastian Lopez

Superprime Films has signed Danish-Cuban director Sebastian Lopez for representation in the US, UK, and Amsterdam, marking his first commercial representation in these markets.
If traditional advertising is a polished showroom, Lopez’s work feels more like stepping into a packed house party where everyone is a character and the music never quite stops. There’s rhythm to everything he makes. Not just in the edit, but in the way people talk, move, interrupt each other, and exist on screen.
Lopez grew up between contrasts: ten years of violin, rooted in structure and discipline, alongside a steady diet of Cristiano Ronaldo clips, old Pepsi ads, and skits on YouTube, Vine, and TikTok. He began filming shorts on his mom’s iPhone, writing and shooting sketches throughout high school. He went on to study communications and work at an advertising agency, but the pull was always toward film. In 2024, after a period of personal reset, he returned to making the kind of sketches he’d always loved, this time with a renewed sense of urgency. As he puts it, life felt too short not to.
That shift led to a series of character-led shorts, which he wrote and directed, including his breakout collaboration with Globe Studios, which found viral traction on TikTok and introduced his now recognisable style. From there came commercial work for brands including Red Bull and Veo, with Season Doesn’t Start Without Veo continuing his run of high-energy, performance-driven storytelling. His self-written short film That’s AI further expands that world, blending humour with what’s happening in culture and the world around him. Inspired as much by meme culture as by early 90s sports commercials, he leans into rawness over polish, allowing characters to carry the frame.
“Sebastian’s work sticks because it’s genuinely funny and grounded in everyday behaviour,” said Rebecca Skinner and Michelle Ross, founders of Superprime Films. “He’s a strong writer with a sharp sense of dialogue and timing, shaping how he directs performances.”
Francesca Roberts, EP of Superprime UK, added, “Sebastian’s cultural radar is so finely tuned, he holds a mirror up to our world and reflects it back in an effortlessly cool way” He’s one of those rare voices where you can sense the momentum building early, and we’re really looking forward to helping shape that journey alongside him.”
Lopez, adds: “Some say a creative’s superpower is instinct, and mine tells me this is the right place. Being around kind, driven, and inspired people is exactly what I’m looking for, so I’m genuinely excited to join Superprime. I can’t wait to get started. I’ve got a lot of ideas and a long list of people I’m excited to collaborate with.”
