To mark their signing of award-winning Slovakian filmmaker and director Adam Csoka Keller, Stink Films has launched his striking short film, which aims to challenge our perceptions of classical ballet.
Created in collaboration with the Royal Opera House and Nowness, THE RITE documents a performance by dance troupe Culture Device - a group of dancers with Down Syndrome - to mark the 106th anniversary of Stravinsky’s scandalous work The Rite of Spring.
With flashes of the revolutionary spirit of the original ballet performed by the famous Ballets Russe, the end result feels raw and primal, unlike anything you'll have seen before, interspersed with insights from the dancers themselves.
