Starling has kicked off 2024 by adding US director Jessica Sanders to its ever-expanding UK roster.

Sanders award-winning credits include campaigns for Apple, Amazon, Samsung, Honda, Toyota, Lindt, Land Rover, Proctor & Gamble, and lots more. With a background in documentaries, her commercial career was launched when she was handpicked by Steve Jobs to direct Apple’s iPad launch campaign. More recently, she won a Cannes Award for her Sony Make. Believe film. She’s even been nominated for an Oscar for her documentary short, Sing!

Great storytelling, a pin-sharp cinematic eye and a playful sense of the absurd come together to define Sanders work, whether she’s making a 60-second commercial or a feature-length documentary. Her light comic touch is also used to great effect in many of her stylish narrative films, including the short, martial arts comedy, The Cocktail Party, and End of the Line, a visual-effects heavy collaboration with Brett Gelman (Stranger Things) and Simon Helberg (The Big Bang Theory).

Starling’s EP and founder, Charlie Stanfield, says: "I couldn’t be more excited to have Jessica joining the Starling roster. There’s a witty intelligence and playfulness to her filmmaking that really appeals to me. I love how she is able to extract the gold at the heart of a story and shine a light on it from unpredictable angles. I can’t wait to see what she does next."

Sanders adds: "I’m thrilled to be joining Starling’s roster of filmmakers to create more work out of the UK. I have loved shooting in London and collaborating with UK agencies and am excited for more opportunities with Charlie and his team."
