How’s a chap supposed to get on with the vital business of building dinosaur models when he has to share space with a screechy little sister incessantly swinging soft toys about and hosting tea parties?
The Kids’ Room, created by Colenso BBDO and directed by Zia Mandviwalla through Finch, follows up the brand’s What Ella Wants campaign with another charming, family-themed spot, this time following the story of two siblings, Jasper and Willa, who share a bedroom.
Mandviwalla has coaxed Oscar-worthy performances from the two young stars, Ben and Zita. Colenso BBDO ECD Steve Cochran reveals, “Zita, who's just five years old, was intent on staying true to her onscreen character, Willa, throughout the two-day shoot.”
The tone is saved from being too saccharine thanks to the jaunty old-timey folk track by the late singer and activist Johnny Richardson (licensed through Franklin Road), the same artist whose music was used in the Ella commercial.
