Written and directed by Oscar-nominee Laura Checkoway and co-produced by Lief, Alt Shift Life is a touching portrait of the hope ServiceNow's RiseUp program is offering to diverse talents facing a variety of challenges.
Weaving together stories from India, rural Tennessee, and the Bronx, the film introduces us to three remarkable alumni of the program who’ve all found success in the IT arena: Scott, whose biological parents had a history of drugs and alcohol, was born with Cerebral Palsy as a result of his mother’s difficult pregnancy and never thought he’d be able to break out of poverty; Sai, a young woman from a small village in India, broke with tradition to follow her dream of independence – moving to Bangalore to study software engineering; while DeVonn grew up as an isolated, self-described computer obsessed ‘nerd’ in the Bronx and was able to break the generational cycle of living paycheck to paycheck.
The 25-minute film will have its official premiere during the Tribeca Film Festival on 13 June.
