Created by Cutwater for San Francisco Bay Coffee, this campaign marks directing duo Remus + Kiki’s first work since joining the Psyop roster, as part of the WIZZ family.
A shameful 80 million plastic coffee pods go into landfills daily, and this film brings to life a vibrant, 2D world in which various characters discover that each sip from their morning joe brings the landfill closer, causing a flood of polluting plastic pods.
Bringing a playful energy to an important message, the animation celebrates the tiny eco-friendly choices we can execute every day that can make a world of difference.
The directors commented: "We’re thankful for the chance to pursue our instincts in brewing a visual blend both friendly and funky, with aromas that adequately tingle our funny palette. By taking design inspiration from underground comic greats such as Gilbert Shelton, Donelan and R. Crumb, we aimed to bring out a lumpy, endearing quality in our characters, making them relatable in a way that better conveys to the viewer that they'll soon drown in their own plastic waste!"
