First, if you haven’t watched the last couple Ganacci/Rupic collabs, take a minute and watch Horse. We’ll wait.
You have to admire a pair of creatives that get together and just make each other that much weirder. Step-Grandma gives a surreal twist to stranger danger, featuring Salvatore Ganacci as a stalker who wants nothing more than to have a grandmother dote on him. The way he gets there, and the bizarre twist at the end, is absolutely jaw-dropping.
Director Vedran Rupic adds in slick special effects - moving trees, a Ganacci who slides across the floor, bizarre bread with a sandwich inside, all of which make the film impossible to look away from lest you come back and realize you have no idea what the hell is going on. The film was produced by Business Club Royale, which has developed the perfect balance between Ganacci’s eerie presence and a seamless final film
