Fans of the online action game Free Fire were twitching with glee in December when Garena revealed Cristiano Ronaldo was to be the game’s global brand ambassador – the first global sports icon to develop ties with a mobile game.
This was followed by a subsequent even more thrilling announcement that he’d be a playable character in the game’s latest release Operation Chrono.
Directing team Timekeepers and Passion Pictures, Paris, have collaborated on a slick, high-octane trailer, boasting epic design and ultra-realistic 3D animation, that more than matches the hype surrounding the release.
Ronaldo morphs from footie hero to superhero as he crosses time dimensions, dispatching pesky space baddies along the way with precision shooting, nifty martial arts moves and some impressively brooding looks.
The brilliant fight scenes were shot in motion capture and take place against a cinematic backdrop that the publisher described as a transformation of the Free Fire world into a “futuristic slum universe.”
Chrono’s mission is to prevent the space slum getting any slummier, for that he needs to enlist the help of Free Fire players.
The compelling music was composed and mixed by Hit & Run.
