Created by CHEP Network and produced by Chop Shop Post, this series of scary film ‘trailers’ for Queensland Health was co-directed by Lav Bodnaruk and Michael Mier, who’ve just completed their feature film Zombie Plane (starring Vanilla Ice and Chuck Norris).
Promoting a fictional film about the Aussie state’s solar serial killer, the campaign features a main full trailer and five cut-down reminders to stay safe by slapping on a hat, slopping on sunscreen, seeking shade, using wraparound sunnies and slipping on a shirt.
Utilising well-known horror tropes, including a deranged looking kid in the woods, a foreboding elderly lady and mirror jump scares, the films target 18 – 34 year olds and aims to encourage them to better protect themselves from damaging UV radiation. For this age group, melanoma is the most diagnosed cancer.
