OK, we'll address the gaming elephant in the room first - as far as artistic dioramas of AAA titles go, nothing can really beat Halo 3's masterpiece from 2007.
However, despite its reminiscence of that award-winner, Platige Image's lovely film for the Esports World Cup is a terrific standalone piece; taking viewers through stoney CGI statues of popular titles in a dramatic and engaging manner.
Developed in direct association with the competition - the studio being involved from the script through animation style to full CGI realization - the film not only provides a snapshot into the games to be played, but also renders some of the most recognisable e-sports champions in its final moments, so as not to forget the avatar's master.
