“No, no, no you don’t fit in, we’ll pick you next time.” Words heard by a woman who has been made to feel her skin is the ‘wrong’ shade of brown, who bemoans never being anybody's first choice.
A Tibetan who’s never been to Tibet and is a stateless citizen living in a foreign land, says there is a void within him where the concept of home should be.
Produced by The Corner Shop, the beautifully crafted multimedia short, Misfits, aims to highlight the realities of colourism, homophobia, racism and prejudice, something that many in the South Asian subcontinent face every day.
Ultimately optimistic, the film follows the transformative journeys of four fascinating Mumbai individuals who move from a life of discrimination to celebrating their fiercely original outlooks.
