One Track Mind: Ryan Kofman
Ryan Kofman, Senior Director Creative Synch at BMG, misses his 80s pre-game music mix and goes on record with his 'guilty pleasure' track as he reveals his Elements Music Isolation Radio Station playlist.
What song or album have you been listening to lately while working from home?
Aside from my mix of newly liked songs that gets repeated every morning, I’d have to say Hamilton Leithauser’s The Loves of Your Life has been the album on repeat. It can play beginning to end and I wouldn’t even consider skipping a track. Wack Jack should almost definitely end up top three on my Spotify year end playlist.
What track always gets you on the dance floor?
Well, you have to be able to dance to have a song getting you on the dance floor, right? If there is one out there it would have to be The Rapture’s House Of Jealous Lovers.

What's your 'guilty pleasure' track?
Oh boy! On the record? I guess I’d have to say Coldplay’s Life In Technicolor ii; something about that song just gives me the feels.

What song always makes you turn off the stereo when it comes on?
I’m going to get shunned by a lot of people in my community, but anything from Sublime. I grew up with it playing on repeat and for some reason the local radio stations have refused to move on from what they already over-played 25 years ago. Ha! It’s not that I hate the band, I just can’t listen to Santeria anymore in my life.
There isn’t much 'going out on the town' happening, but when we're finally able to let loose, what track will you listen to while you're getting ready?
I miss listening to my 80s 'pre-game' mix before a gig or night out. I would always start with Lips Like Sugar by Echo & The Bunnymen [above], and shuffle from there. Hopefully I can do that again one day soon.
