As young Black people go about their daily lives, No More reminds us that Black people do not benefit from the systems in power.
This short ad shows Black people in small, condensed situations; partying, walking home, driving, going for a run, and interlays it with music and phone calls, creating a layered piece that speaks to and reminds us of all the ways that the white systems of control are built against Black people. Not just the police, the public, but now the pandemic, No More wants us to act against injustice, and the time is now.
Developed and produced by Whitney Cusack for Reelistic Media, the short PSA is stark and heartbreaking. It is the reality, and unless we change it, there is no changing it. The young boy’s voice at the end asking “can we go outside now?” feels so innocent, reminding us again whose futures we are fighting to protect.
