A new global campaign for Speedo looks to relaunch the brand during an Olympic year, aiming to reclaim the brand’s heritage as a global swimwear icon.

Created by independent agency Mirimar Los Angeles, Go Full Speedo serves as a rallying cry for swimmers worldwide and focusses on a mindset that represents the brand's customers' total commitment, whether they're in or out of the water.

Directed by Scottie Cameron through Collider, the 90-second spot includes an original song by the band The Beefs, a whole series of people - from office workers, to traffic cops, to gardeners - embracing the Speedo lifestyle and going 'full Speedo', and features Stranger Things star Dacre Montgomery, Californian skateboarding legend Peggy Oki, and the stars of the TV show Bondi Rescue.

The brand says that, after years of focusing on speed and performance it has drifted away from its original Aussie attitude and, with this new campaign, is looking to reclaim its spot in the hearts of the bronzed, Bondi Beachgoers who made it famous.

“Growing up in Bondi before moving to the US, Speedo was always more than just a swimwear brand—it was iconic for the people and the lifestyle it represented,” said Luke McKelvey, Co-Founder at Mirimar. “We love that this new platform can encompass everything from a kid jumping from the high board for the first time to an Olympic athlete breaking a world record."
