Co-directed by YDA-winner Emma Branderhorst and Ismael ten Heuvel through pinkrabbit, this touching campaign by TBWA Amsterdam for fast food chain McDonald's captures the warm and fuzzy feelings of first love.
Beautifully brought to life by the directors' intimate and authentic storytelling, the film follows a young woman working with her father on his excursion boat. As the protagonist welcomes tourists aboard, she locks eyes with another teen girl and sparks instantly fly.
In a day-long, whirlwind romance, the boatman's daughter jokes and flirts with the tourist, teaching her all about the island and its coastline, but sadly waves her goodbye when the voyage comes to an end. The following day, the tourist returns with an offering from the mainland - a bag of McDonald's - and jokes 'You don't have that on the island, do you?'.
