In 2021, the National Museum of Denmark opened its doors to an ambitious exhibition on the country’s Viking Age.
Alongside an unprecedented collection of Viking artefacts, the show featured this specifically commissioned, 17-minute film, directed by Martin de Thurah through Bacon.
Enchanting and beautifully-crafted, The Raid entwines chilling imagery, suspenseful storytelling, and historical events, bringing Bjørn Ironside’s attempt to conquer Rome to life.
After staying open for more than two years, the exhibition finished its run in October 2023, and the film is now available to watch online.
