Designed by Verner Panton in 1971, the Panthella lamp has maintained its status as a style icon throughout the last fifty years.
This film was created to commemorate the anniversary of the Danish lamp and the reissue of the piece in a new finish. The Brass plating takes center stage in this visual-heavy exploration of color and design. Full of clever transitions, slick visuals, and patterns that warp and twist on screen, the piece hides the Panthella in plain sight.
Frame, a Copenhagen-based motion design studio, reimagined the Panthella visual universe while emphasizing the 2021 edition color palette of brass, chrome, black, and orange. Frame designed, directed, and animated the piece, with sound design help from Waa.
