Lobos sits 1707 at the table
Richly layered and full of promise, the film travels from moonlit agave fields and palenque fires to cityscapes and food trucks, crafting vignettes that show both the formation of the brand and the product itself.

Seeped in a distinctly Mexican texture, full of smoke and navy skies, this film goes into the story of a modern mezcal.
Creating a story from the process of distilling mezcal and tequila, the camera glorifies the jimador and the coa, filming the means of producing a craft spirit. Pieced together, the film becomes a collaborative process, part motorcycle diaries and part documentary. Shifting between black and white and full color, the film is wonderfully edited, creating questions about the process while also revealing only a handful of techniques and methods, holding the rest up in the air, to either be challenged or appreciated.
Build a Bigger Table is beautifully shot, full of smoke and scenery, with an ending that pulls back to reveal not just the full table, but the crew and tracks of those making the film. It’s a nice ending to a massive undertaking that was started by agency Young Hero and polished by LANDIA’s director Ariel Danziger and Jeremy Snell behind the camera.
