Directed by Tanner K. Williams through Magna Studios LA, with moody cinematography by Bentley Rawle, this promo for Lizzo's latest track stages a confrontation between the singer's present self and her Cuz I Love You-era persona from 2019.

While the song's lyrics describe the anguish of a person unsure of their lover's commitment, the video's surreal visuals explore the duality between Lizzo and her alter ego, Lizzy, exploring personal growth, accountability, and the uneasy process of facing who you used to be.

As ever with Lizzo, who describes herself in the song as "a big fine woman", it's so refreshing to see female flesh that escapes, not only the subject's undergarments, but the narrow, restrictive confines of the routine size 10 version of femininity that is so often presented as ideal.
