A new campaign for KFC highlights the passion that the Colonel inspires among its army of chicken-loving fans.
Created by Mother London and directed by Rich Hall through Riff Raff London, the new 60-second TV spot [above] and the 10-seconds cut downs [below] feature a cross-section of fans showing their love for KFC. It includes everything from those 999 calls when KFC ran out of chicken to Colonel Sanders tattoos and in-store proposals to people parading their home-made KFC merch. The spot is set to the timeless tones of the Barry White classic You’re The First, The Last, My Everything.
Some edits of the ad will also see the return of the brand’s beloved tagline, It’s Finger Lickin’ Good, one year after it was temporarily dropped from advertising in the UK. With restaurants across England set to reopen for indoor seating next week [May 17], KFC couldn’t wait a moment longer to be reunited with its famous slogan.
“We wanted this campaign to celebrate each and every one of our fans," said Jack Hinchliffe, Marketing Director at KFC UK & Ireland. "They have been unwavering and constantly show us their dedication in wonderful ways.”
“No other brand conjures up this level of adoration," added Hermeti Balarin, Partner at Mother, "so it was about time we compiled it all into one feel-good package. Here’s to the fans."
