Today is St Patrick’s Day, so a grand day to enjoy the craic with a glass of hooch in your hand and think about all the things you love about the Irish.
First thing that springs to mind is their fine sense of humour, which can be wry or ribald, and is most certainly the latter in this comic festival of 'fecks' created by TDA Boulder, and directed by Ben Perry, through Hobnob.
To create Keeper’s Heart Irish American Whiskey, the brand lured Brian Nation, one of the best Master Distillers in the world to Minneapolis. Brian not only left his hometown of Cork and Ireland’s largest distillery (the Jameson brand), he arguably left one of the most coveted distiller jobs in the world.
TDA Boulder went back to Cork, Ireland, to see how whiskey lovers took the news of their famed Master Distiller leaving and perhaps bid Brian a fond farewell. Let’s just say, the locals – from respectable elderly couples to librarians – all made their feelings very clear with some hilarious profanities.
“Jameson has only had three Master Distillers over the last century and Brian Nation was the third,” stated Jonathan Schoenberg, ECD/Partner, TDA Boulder. “Brian leaving Ireland for America was a big deal and while his fans, friends and family will always love him, they are pissed. Brian was a great sport allowing all these people to tell him to fuck off.”
