A self-made mural, a memento of an early shoot, a smiling alpaca; there's no doubt that Conscious Minds' Jesus Acosta know how to bring joy to his workspace.

The multidisciplinary artist from Mexico, now living in Los Angeles, spends his time working on campaigns for the likes of Apple, Roblox, Nike, JD Sports, Jack In The Box, Dell, surrounded by the playful items he shares in this week's Favourite Things.

The Prop

I kept this Austin license plate prop as a memento from the first commercial shoot of my career.

I moved to Los Angeles last year after living in Texas for 12 years, so it also serves as a reminder of my community on the other side of the country and feels like a little piece of home.

Yeehaw!

The Mural

I love the mural I painted in my office.

I had never really done anything like it before.

I didn’t really have a plan for it when I started working on it, I just freehanded it and hoped for the best.

I love being spontaneous in every area of my life, and this was a good example of a situation where I just went for it and loved the outcome.

It was important for me to make my space stimulating and I found that being surrounded by my art makes me feel at peace.

The Trophy

Conscious Minds Studios awarded me the Elle Woods Award last year.

I’ll be totally honest in saying that I don’t completely remember what it stands for, BUT I think it was something along the lines of pushing through adversity.

Having it around me in my workspace makes me want to stay positive and motivated when I’m going through a hard time or a creative block.

#WhatLikeItsHard.

The Alpaca

I got Alice as a birthday present a couple of years ago.

She lives in New Jersey and I haven’t had a chance to visit her, but I hopefully will make the trip this year.

The adoption certificate sits right next to my desk and I love looking at her little smiling face every day.

It makes me happy.

The Autograph

I snagged this autographed copy of Taylor Swift’s Folklore during the pandemic and I’ve kept it on my desk ever since.

Taylor’s ability to reinvent herself over and over is something that I find very admirable and inspiring as a creative.

It reminds me to always try new things and to break out of my box.

WWTSD, ya know?
