David Casey Joins Moxie to Head-Up Nonfiction TV Unit

 

David Casey joins Moxie as Director of Creative.

Moxie Pictures signs Director of Creative David Casey, who joins Director of Development Jesse Korwin on the company's TV slate, Moxie Pictures TV.


Says Moxie President Danny Levinson, "David is a guy with proven executive capabilities who understands the creative process on every level. He has great taste and we're going to help him continue making hit nonfiction TV programs."

Casey and Korwin will focus primarily on nonfiction television programming for network series and specials, in addition to show packaging and promotional campaigns for network series and brands.

Says Casey, "Moxie is perfectly positioned to become a player in the nonfiction TV world immediately, having a track record of exceptional production value and existing involvement with long-form storytellers. It's a huge opportunity  -  and I am honored to be helping build Danny and Robby's vision for Moxie Pictures' future in entertainment on all surface areas."

Casey joins Moxie from The History Channel, where he served as both Senior Producer, Programming and Creative Director. He acted as Creative Director for the channel's most successful show to date, "Pawn Stars" and its most successful special event, "America: The Story of Us," which garnered two Gold 2011 PromaxBDA Awards. Casey also received another two gold awards for the History "Factory" spot, which launched History's re-brand last year. Other prior posts for Casey include serving as Creative Director for Al Gore's Current TV and producing content for Vanguard and their award-winning investigative journalism series.  Casey has directed multiple documentaries, including "I Heart Global Warming," for Current TV and "Motherf**er: A Movie," which had a significant festival run with Frameline Films. Additionally, Casey has helmed or been the driving creative force behind several music videos and promos for The Walkmen, Radiohead, Sigur Ros, Jarvis Cocker, and the Scissor Sisters.

Originally from Kansas, Casey attended the University of Kansas, and is a graduate of both Hunter College and New York University.
