Andy Warhol was a pretty savvy guy when it came to his knowledge of the iconography of branding, but I don't think even he thought that his Coca-Cola-themed paintings would act as a catalyst for one of the most visually inspired spots of the year so far.
Mixing the free-flowing talents of Academy's Henry Scholfield with the VFX brilliance of Electric Theatre Collective, Masterpiece sees a bottle of pop getting tossed between pieces in a gallery, taking on the styles and techniques of each on its journey.
In a spot chock-full of disparate artworks, we clocked established works like Coca-Cola (4) by Andy Warhol, The Shipwreck by JMW Turner, The Scream by Munch, Bedroom in Arles by Van Gogh, Girl with a Pearl Earring by Vermeer; as well as contemporary pieces like Falling in Library by Vikram Kushwah, and Natural Encounters by Stefania Tejada.
The smart idea, from agency BLITZWORKS, is brought to the screen impeccably; the kaleidoscope of visuals never overwhelming and each painting's moment crafted with clear passion and intricate attention to detail.
Slick, sumptuous and seriously sharable, this labour of love from Scholfield and team is one to hang in a gallery.
