First things first, if you're unaware of the cultural phenomenon that is Francis Bourgeois, load up your Instagrams/TikToks and prepare to be charmed by his gleeful obsession with trainspotting.

Taking what is considered by many to be the holy grail of nerdery and making it joyful and, dare we say it, cool, Bourgeois has built up quite the following, so much so that Gucci and North Face snapped him up to front a film promoting their new collab.

Directed by Black Dog’s Tom Dream through agency Highsnobiety, the stylish and endearingly tongue-in-cheek short sees Bourgeois live out his dream as a train conductor in an idealised version of a train journey through the picturesque Alps, as his co-travellers adorn cosy collection.

Key to the fun of the film is Bourgeois' relish in the role of a lifetime - his chiselled face bursting with delight at each announcement and whistle-blow.

“This was a dream collaboration, to have the opportunity to channel the endless joy and charisma of Francis Bourgeois (train enthusiast/ national treasure) into a whimsical Alpine world featuring the new range of The North Face x Gucci collection” said director Tom Dream.

“Josh Wilson at High Snobriety was the most open-minded creative I’ve worked with and gave me the freedom to explore new ideas and possibilities from the development stages right through to the edit and sound design.”
