Google's 25 years of search

Google has launched its annual Year in Search film and accompanying trends list which looks back at the moments, people, topics, events and places that captured the world’s attention in 2023. 

This year sees 25 years of Search and, as part of the film, Google is also sharing some of the most searched trends in the site's history.

From Cristiano Ronaldo as the most searched athlete to Taylor Swift as the most searched songwriter the film, which is created, produced and edited by Google’s Brand Studio, recognises the iconic people, events and moments that have shaped our history, impacted our present and influenced our future.
