There's no doubt that tech has fundamentally changed people's relationships, but it's nice to see a campaign that showcases the ways in which the pros far outweigh the cons in subtle but important ways.

With a new long-form campaign for its Pixel brand, Google Germany and Anomaly Berlin, have crafted three emotionally-charged, intimate shorts featuring an ordinary family and ts various love and life stories.

Directed by BWGTBLD's Stefanie Soho, the films cover a teenage boy who struggles with his first heartbreak (helped through Magic Eraser), a sweet romance that thrives despite a language difference (with the help of Live Translate), and a fractious son/father relationship... that's helped by Google Pixel.

“Our family is a metaphor for modern Germany in all its facets,"  says Jakob Kriwat, Head of Brand & Creative, Google Germany. "Google Pixel plays a clear role as an enabler and companion for everyday life - accompanying people through the ups and downs of modern relationships. The smartphone breaks through language barriers on the first date (with Live Translate), when declaring love with photos (with Magic Eraser), or with a chaotic lifestyle (with Adaptive Battery)”.

“Our aim was to create a platform that positions the helpfulnesses that the Pixel phone offers in a human way,” adds Anomaly Berlin’s Executive Creative Director Azsa West.

“We crafted three stories that sit within that platform, that revolve around a modern German family. And as every human knows, no family is one size fits all, or necessarily perfect. Especially in the world we live in today. And because of that the idea demanded something with heart and with depth. We didn’t want to shy away from the dysfunctional side of family life and relationships, or exclude the good moments, too, that bring us together. Your Life with Pixel is exactly that. It’s personal. And for everyone it will take shape a little bit differently.

"Because the Pixel is truly a helpful companion, no matter the person or thing life throws your way, we let the features take centre stage and tell the story through how they can help you.”
