Created by House 337 and directed by Neil Stubbings, through Jelly, this PSA for PETA calls for a shake-up of the usual yuletide meal option and give up the habit of a roast turkey dinner.
“Kill the tradition, not a turkey” sees Tessa the Turkey – an endearingly jolly carolling character voiced by actor Jane Horrocks – getting excited about all the fun festive traditions that are coming up – mistletoe kisses, family selfies in appalling Christmas jumpers, setting puddings on fire etc.
The film takes a sobering turn however when Tessa realises that she, too, is part of a Christmas tradition – the most sinister of them all. The film ends by inviting people to “Kill the tradition not a turkey. Try vegan this Christmas”.
