Glenfiddich celebrates blossoming futures
Glenfiddich collaborates with Blue Zoo for their 2024 Lunar New Year campaign.
For the 2024 Lunar New Year campaign for Glenfiddich, Blue Zoo’s Short Form team collaborated with Love Creative to bring a unique vision to life.
The campaign focused on photo-realistic scenes of nature inspired by a remarkable sculpture of an iconic stag by artist Raku Inoue. This film marked a new direction in the series of commercials for the iconic Glenfiddich whiskey.
Director, Dane Winn, said, “I was very keen to push the team out of their comfort zone for this project. We started researching and experimenting early on with photorealism and how we could approach the various shots, making sure to lean into our strengths and have the camera choices and action service the idea as well as possible.”
Using Blender, Z Brush and Substance Painter, the goal was to craft a beautiful yet photorealistic look that could be achieved efficiently to meet the client’s needs. The artists combined organic elements like dust and water droplets with lighting bokeh to make an organic feel where the hero assets stand out against the abstract shapes.
