Following up on last year’s clever foot-themed video for Sharpest Edges, Johnson has crafted an equally witty, but visually richer, more layered promo.
Produced by Dreambear, it opens with the object of Gallant’s affection languishing in an opulent retro abode, awash in a confection of soft pastel hues.
Despite apparently living in some kind of luxury marshmallow-y rainbow of a palace, complete with doddery butler, the woman is mightily fed up.
Seems Gallant has been having trouble with monogamy, but has now come to his senses and is busy sending her apologies and entreaties, crooning such deathless poetry as…
"Swear the ego is the enemy, oh, yeah, yeah
And believe me, I done regrettin' it
Though I used to mince words for the hell of it
I mean these, no embеllishment."
Trying to forget him, she attempts distractions but he persists... singing at her from picture frames; popping up on TV ads, fitness videos, shopping channels; even cavorting across her diary as an animated avatar and fetching up as a nodding dolly on the dashboard of her limo.
Will she take him back? You’ll have to watch to find out.
