Editor, Producer and Media Consultant Francesco Loy Bell has joined Mad Cow Films as Creative Director and Head of Development of the production company’s new creative content subsidiary, Milk Machine.
Having graduated from Cambridge University in 2018 with a degree in English Literature, Bell became Editor of Wonderland Magazine in 2019, before assuming the role of Editor-at-large of the magazine and its sister publication, Man About Town.
As Editor, he worked with the likes of Harry Styles, Tom Holland, SZA, Emma Corrin, Little Simz, Austin Butler and Paul Rudd, and brands such as Louis Vuitton, Omega, Beats by Dre and Prada across a range of mediums including editorial, video and social.
Bell has always looked to promote youth and collaborate with emerging talent in his work. During his time at the Evening Standard, he guest edited an issue of ES Magazine focused on the power of youth creativity and DIY ethos, landing Bree Runway on the cover and spotlighting up-and-coming talent including director BAFIC, actor Harry Lawtey, stylist Leah Abbott and fashion designer Miss Sohee.
For the last year, Bell has worked as Managing Editor of creative community and agency The Basement, helping to build out the company’s digital platform and launch their inaugural print magazine while also working on activations with brands such as New Balance, Arc’Teryx, Nike and more.
He is also the founder and Editor-in-Chief of Off The Block Magazine, a youth culture-centric print publication currently on its fourth issue, that has provided talent such as Aitch with their first ever cover features. His work on the magazine’s debut issue saw Francesco shortlisted as Editor of the Year at the 2018 Stack Awards.
Bell says: “I’m delighted to be joining such an esteemed and longstanding company as Mad Cow, and being a part of the exciting new chapter in the company’s story that is Milk Machine.
I am looking forward to pushing the boundaries of what commercial video work can look and feel like, telling culturally relevant stories in a range of mediums, and championing exciting new talent both behind and in front of the camera as I have looked to do throughout my career so far.”
