Apparently you can't x-ray people for a music video without turning them into the Hulk or something, so for the attention-grabbing style of this cracking music video for Brooklyn rap trio Flatbush Zombies, director Arnaud Bresson had to come up with a new plan.
The solution, for Afterlife, was to enlist the skills of animation/VFX studio Machine Molle, alongside production company Division, to capture the performances, using multi-camera tracking, in order to later manipulate the data into photo-real bags-of-bones.
The effect is startling and impactful, with touches like an embedded bullet, grilled grins and a bony pole-dancer (xxx-ray?) only adding to the nightmarish skeleton ball.
