This wonderfully wacky spot created by &Co, stars a video game NPC (non playable character) who steps out of the digital dimension, demanding to speak to the EPOS manager when she realises their new BrainAdapt headset gives players an advantage.
The campaign, titled NPC Karen Wants To Speak To The Manager, was directed by Bertil Vorre through New Land, with creative input from Jeppe Hansen and Stefan Sahl.
It draws inspiration from the world of video gaming, whilst hilariously tapping into pop culture references such as the ‘Karen’ meme, a pejorative stereotype of an angry middle-aged white woman who makes unreasonable demands.
“Poor Karen has been through a lot in her life, getting killed over and over again by thoughtless gamers,” explained director Vorre, “I felt like she needed that extra drop of built-up frustration, which we managed to show with crazy makeup, visual effects, and a twist of absurd comedy.”
