Elvis is alive. Paul is dead. Stevie Wonder can see! The world of popular music is filled with wild conspiracy theories, and the crackpot protagonist of this anarchic music video for Glass Animals might just have a new one...

With The Other Side of Paradise, Stink director Eoin Glaister follows the antics of a delightful spoof superfan - TinFoilPat -  as he attempts to uncover a complex conspiracy: that lead singer Dave Bayley has died and been replaced by a clone.

Cleverly employing on-stage clips, TikTok cutaways, and generative AI to mask the fact that the band weren't available for filming, Glaister constructs a brilliantly twisty cat-and-mouse narrative that involves real-life moments of infiltrating the Universal Music London office alongside subtle glimpses of Glass Animals fandom trivia.

Created as a revival of the track, originally released on the How To Be A Human Being album, the film forms part of a celebration of the 7th anniversary of the album, designed to introduce new fans to their broader catalogue and following the viral success of TikTok-famed Heat Waves.

“Constructing the narrative with the archive footage means that I could blend facts and fiction in a silly way, which I’m really into.,” says Glaister. “This is the third job I've done for Glass Animals, which means I've earned some trust with them; it’s useful for running with a really, really bizarre idea like this one. It felt like a full circle moment, creating promos for the album again.”

“Because the band wasn't available for the shoot, I thought it would be interesting to play with the idea of cloning Dave. I'd been watching TikToks with my sisters and was really taken with all the fanfare and conspiracy theories surrounding Avril Lavigne and Britney Spears and I love how ropey all of that evidence is. They were vehicles to kick start thinking for this project.”
