A lavish homage to the Japanese aesthetic, this epic spot was released today ahead of the squad travelling to Tokyo for Friday’s Rugby World Cup kick-off.
Helmed by Sam Brown and produced by Rogue Films, the beautifully crafted 90-second ad, Be Their Armour, took eight months to complete and sees captain Owen Farrell and teammates prepare for battle – the message to fans being that their support will be the players’ armour.
The film opens with mysterious riders arriving at a remote forest settlement to rouse its inhabitants into action, the film then follows the forest-dwellers forge and fit the England team with their stunning samurai-style, rose-bearing armour.
It appears today on O2 Priority and O2 social channels with support from influencers like rugby legend Jonny Wilkinson and will go live on ITV on Sunday 22 September.
