If you're looking to cast the child of Johnny Depp's iconic Edward Scissorhands for a modern-day audience, you couldn't do much better than Timothée Chalamet.

With his ethereal beauty, shock of dark hair and plaid complexion, Chalamet is the spit of his pa as Edgar Scissorhands, the star of Cadillac's Big Game spot from Leo Burnett, which acts as a quasi-sequel to Tim Burton's original.

Alongside the pastel tones and intentionally stilted performances of the original, perfectly homaged by O Positive's David Shane, is Winona Ryder reprising her role of Kim, the proud mother who sees a way to help her spikey son.

Deliciously titled ScissorHandsFree [we love a laboured pun], this nostagia-fuelled spot eschews the troubling subtext - were those appendages hereditary or did they... attach them themselves - and instead revels in the goodwill of the movie classic.
