Doppelganger Adds Director Simon Ritzler

Simon Ritzler's short film for the fashion label New Yorker is a nod to film noir classics.

Doppelgänger Film, the production company based in Hamburg that's part of the TwinFilm Group, has announced the signing of Director Simon Ritzler.  A graduate of the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy, Ritzler is an up and coming talent with a flair for cinematic drama and storytelling.

His graduate film, titled "Dress for the Moment," for the fashion label New Yorker, celebrated its premiere in Ludwigsburg, Germany recently.  The film was produced with the assistance of NBH Studios in Berlin, which provided post production and sound design.  The heroes of this seven-minute short are a gangster couple in the style of Bonnie and Clyde, who consider boredom a fate worse than death. With a touch of film noir drama and performances, Ritzler portrays the characters in a compelling manner.

Ritzler proved his skills back in 2010 with his 80-second film for Hornbach titled "Held." Inspired by the films of Leni Riefenstahl, it reflects subtle humor combined with classic film techniques, which has since become his trademark.  His student reel also includes spots for such brands as Mini, Diesel, Nike and Levi's.
