Doner launches #HireDetroit initiative as local talent faces disruption
The legacy Detroit agency commits $1 million to hire local advertising industry professionals.
Detroit-based advertising agency Doner announces the launch of #HireDetroit, a commitment to hiring and helping Detroit-based talent as Motor City agencies face account losses amid agency change.
“Doner has been a fixture of the advertising landscape since 1937, and we’re not going anywhere,” said David DeMuth, CEO at Doner. “There’s amazing talent here in Detroit. We’re investing one million dollars, at minimum, to find the best our city has to offer and continue elevating our work in service of clients.”
Amid recent disruption, Doner has appropriated a million-dollar incremental talent budget toward welcoming outstanding Detroit-based talent to its team, with a goal of hiring locally across key departments in the next 90 days. And the agency has already begun the hiring process.
To help those people impacted beyond hiring bandwidth, Doner is compiling a database of Detroit-based advertising talent at hiredetroit.doner.com and will share that data with clients, agencies and recruiters across the country. Doner is also offering to help with job searches by providing LinkedIn Premium membership for 200 users. Agency leadership will offer guidance via resume and portfolio reviews to help guide local talent in their job searches as well. In addition, Boon, a Detroit-based personalized coaching platform that helps individuals and workforces grow personally and professionally, will provide complimentary professional career coaching to those people affected.
“Since 2021, we’ve partnered with Doner and other prominent ad agencies across the country to help employees, managers and executives bring their best selves to work,” said Alex Simmons, Co-Founder and CEO at Boon Health. “We’re excited to help support #HireDetroit. Our experienced, accredited coaches stand ready to help local professionals navigate career transitions so they can thrive in their field.”
“Detroit advertising is once again going through extreme change. As has been the case before, the resilience of our advertising community will shine through,” DeMuth added.
The database goes live on Monday, August 5. To gain access, visit hiredetroit.doner.com.
