The comedy director brings his commercials and TV skills (he's the Bon Qui Qui "King Burger" maven) to New York-based Compulsive Pictures.
Director Danny J. Boyle Joins Compulsive Pictures
The noted TV comedy and commercial director Danny J. Boyle has signed with Compulsive Pictures in New York for exclusive commercial representation throughout the US. Boyle, whose TV work includes sketch comedy for FOX, Disney and Comedy Central, has helmed many national campaigns spanning beer to babies, with the occasional chimpanzee thrown in for good measure.
Boyle is currently in negotiations with Fox Digital for the Larry Miller Project, which he co-created with the well known actor and standup comic. Among his TV comedy gems is a "King Burger" sketch for Mad TV featuring Anjelah Johnson as Bon Qui Qui. The routine currently has over 48 million views on YouTube. (Check it out here.)
"We're very happy to have Danny on board" says Compulsive EP Jack Turney. "In a very crowded market it's important to have directors with unique and highly-sought after abilities. Danny's comedic timing and dialogue expertise, along with having worked with so many celebrities, all adds up. We're elated to have him with us."
Boyle's signing comes on the heels of his wrapping a project for Kelly Preston HealthPartners featuring TV celebrity Andrew Zimmern, star of Bizarre Foods. At present, he's in Prague helming a series of humorous spots for the Czech power company RWE. He's also worked in South Africa, shooting comedy via Sweet Spot Content.
Boyle joins a roster at Compulsive that includes Mark Celentano, Fabien Dufils and Sergio Henriques.
