Crying all the way to the bank
In this highly imaginative spot for Egypt’s Bank NXT, an elderly man bitterly regrets the time he’s wasted schlepping out to his bank’s branch when he could have done his finances at home with an app.

You can always bank on directors Hamba and Doss to deliver a good dose of dottiness to their work, and this campaign for Bank NXT doesn’t disappoint.
Created by Tarek Nour Advertising and produced by Butter Films, the film Sorry Grandpa follows the tale of man who learns from his grandson that with NXT, the bank will come to him if he prefers!
This causes the oldster to reflect on the 60 years of thrice weekly visits – i.e. 780 days – he’s spent visiting the bank. Cue a series of entertainingly odd depictions of things he could have done with that time, such as learning Vietnamese, publishing books, dumping his wife Ethel, hooking up with Gloria and then returning to Ethel.
His musings on the 27 rotations of the moon around the Earth during his bank-schlepping years elicits a beautifully realised lunar scenario. Nicely done.
