Going through a creative landscape that has astronauts made of marigolds, girlfriends who may or may not be real, and reflections kissing a refracted version of themselves, this ad is a whimsical construction. With interesting fashions and references to pop culture trends, the ad feels strangely out of time, as if it’s pushing boundaries from ten years ago today. Cosmo presents a world that is both familiar and strange at the same time.

Directed by Imanol Ruiz de Lara, the piece is fresh and captivating as models stare straight at the camera. The world around them might not exist, but they do, and the result is captivating, bright, and weird.
